About Wellread
Last updated
Wellread is an AI visibility audit. It asks ChatGPT and Gemini the questions your buyers ask, shows whether they name your company and who they name instead, checks whether your own website answers those questions, and gives you a plan of what to change.
Why it exists
Buyers increasingly ask an AI assistant before they open a search engine. In G2’s March 2026 survey of 1,076 B2B software buyers, 51% said they start their research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google (G2, The Answer Economy). If the assistant doesn’t mention your company, that buyer may never learn it exists. Wellread shows what the assistants say today, on the questions that matter in your market, so you know what to work on.
What it measures, and what it doesn’t
- What ChatGPT and Gemini answer to 30 buyer questions, asked through their makers’ APIs with web search switched on.
- Whether the crawlers behind ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity are allowed to read your website, and whether your pages have words in them without running JavaScript.
- Whether a page on your site answers each buyer question, with the sentence that shows it.
- Not measured: what Claude, Perplexity or Copilot answer, personalised answers inside the apps, or the traffic and sales that come from AI.
How we measure says how every number is counted. What an audit is describes the product from start to finish.
We run it on ourselves
Our own website is audited like any customer’s, and the result is public with the numbers as they came out: Wellread’s audit of its own site.
Who runs it
Wellread is built and supported by a small team. When you write to support@trywellread.com, one of us answers. The company that operates Wellread and takes its payments is named in the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy says what we collect and who else handles it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t change anything on your website. Wellread reads your public pages and nothing else.
- We don’t publish for you. A drafted page is yours to check, fill in and publish.
- We don’t invent facts about your business. Where a draft needs something your site doesn’t say, it leaves a marked gap for you.
- We don’t promise that an assistant will recommend you. An audit shows what was said and what to work on.
